Ronald McDonald House

I think I'm most proud of this one.  This cake was for Red Shoe Society event in October.  They are a very dedicated group of people that put together amazing events to benefit RMH.  I have a few good friends are very involved.  Unfortunately, I was out of town and unable to attend the event (Red Shoe and Brew at Twin Lakes Brewery in Greenville, DE).  But I was happy to donate the cake and thrilled with how it turned out.

The shoes are made of rice krispie treats and covered in buttercream and fondant.

Finally a few Pics!

I thought since I've started an additional blog, I should probably post something on this one.  Still working on the decision as to what to call this whole cake business thing.   I know I love doing it but the thought of doing it as a profession seems very overwhelming to me.  Not to mention, I have no formal training and no experience in running a business.  I just like to make cakes and I think I'm not too bad at it.

So here are a few pics of recent cakes!
This is a bridal shower cake I made for a very good friend of mine.  The jewels are not edible so they had to be taken off before cutting the cake but everything else is fondant and gum paste.  I've come to realize that I'm a big fan of bling and sparkle on cakes!

This is my daughter's 7th birthday cake!  The butterflies are made of rice paper and sugar, so they are edible!  But I didn't make them.  I ordered them from a company on Etsy.com called IncrEDIBLEtoppers.  They are from Canada and still managed to ship by the time I needed them for the party.  And the butterflies are amazing!  I didn't have as much time to work on this cake but Meg still loved it and it tasted awesome!
